There is a great underestimation that small businesses can’t afford to market themselves, which is false! In our ever so competitive market it’s extremely important for our small local businesses to get their message out and attract new clientele. This isn’t the time to rely on “regulars.” They are your bread and butter, but in this economy people come and go and the sense of loyalty may not be as strong. However, knowing your customer is key, and when looking at a targeted list of leads that’s exactly what you are looking at.
Let’s start with what not to do. A friend of mine lives in a beautiful beach community, where people are always advertising products and services in this particular area. However, when you find a stack of postcards piling up and polluting your turf you tend to get a little upset. Perfect example, the local salon wanted to advertise to this community instead of getting a targeted list of women of certain ages and incomes around their business. The salon then made the decision to print up beautiful postcards with their service and just scatter them on the ground in the community. This is technically what most of us would call littering, and the locals called the salon and let them know that. Instead of the phones flooding with potential clients, they received a week’s worth of angry residents.
Are you the local butcher, baker, or candlestick maker? Yes, you can market to your community and yes you can generate new business this way. Any local business can get a list of targeted leads that zero’s in on the exact customer their looking for, you can filter by:
- Age
- Income
- Gender
- Ethnicity
- Health
- FICO
- Homeowners/Renters
- Occupation
- Newlyweds
- Children
- New Movers
- Eco Friendly
- Animal Friendly
- Gambling Friendly…etc you get the picture you can get anything!
Make a mail piece find a list of leads of your choice, and let your local community members know what all you have to offer them! People want to support their local businesses, so let them know that’s you!
Give us a call today or fill out the inquiry form and we will contact you during normal business hours.
